About the Author

Francesco Quaranta Leoni, MD is the Director of the Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Service in the Dept. of Ophthalmology of Tiberia Hospital - GVM Care & Research in Rome and Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pavia. Past President of ESOPRS and SICOP (Italian Oculoplastic Surgery Society), International Associate Member of ASOPRS, Member of ITEDS, Committee Member and Advisor for Oculoplastic Surgery of AIMO (Italian Association of Ophthalmologists), Member of the Editorial Board of Orbit, the International Journal on Orbital Disorders, Oculoplastic and Lacrimal Surgery. He attended general ophthalmic and subspecialty strabismus training at the Catholic University of Rome, and a two-year Fellowship in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital – London. In 2014 he has received the ASOPRS Merrill Reeh Pathology Award for his work on the management of porous orbital implants requiring explantation. He lectures regularly worldwide on oculoplastic surgery, publishes in the field, and has a commitment to teaching, training ophthalmic doctors at residency and post residency level.
