Faye Kellerman started her career as a dentist, but became a writer about the same time as her husband.

The book not only introduced Detective Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus. What is initially, in the first book, the relationship involving a detective and a crime victim, Faye Kellerman manages to capture the complex troubles, love and growth of the relationship beweet a homicide cop who marries a woman of Jewish faith with two growing boys. That it’s all wrapped up in a series of compelling mysteries makes sitting down and reading them a thorough joy.
